微軟已經啟動了Windows8開發者版本的下載，這是一個被命名為pre-beta的版本，用於展示功能之用，並非穩定版，所以不建議將其使用在生產環境中。遺憾的是部分功能已經被屏蔽，因此我們無法看到像發布會中那麼完整的體驗：
